Most people are using AI wrong
Most people think using AI means writing better prompts.
It doesn’t.
That’s just the surface.
The common approach
The typical workflow looks like this:
- open ChatGPT
- write a prompt
- get an answer
- repeat
This works, but it keeps you in the role of a user.
The actual shift
The real shift happens when you stop using AI and start building with it.
Instead of asking:
“What can this tool do for me?”
You start asking:
“How do I integrate this into a system?”
What changes
When you think this way:
- prompts become inputs to a system
- models become components
- APIs become infrastructure
You stop thinking in terms of tools and start thinking in terms of systems.
Why this matters
Anyone can use AI tools.
Very few people understand how to run, structure, and integrate them.
That difference is what separates:
- users
- from engineers
Closing
Using AI is easy.
Building with it is where things get interesting.
